Ha sido un ocupado dos semanas desde nuestro último post, 2019 Premio de Apreciación :: 2019 Appreciation Award que ha sido el más extendido post en ayuda de su historia. El post despertó el interés de todas las partes de Guatemala. Aquellos que nos contactó preguntó si Ayuda pudo ampliar sus servicios para incluir su ciudad o, como mínimo, ayudarles a crear un modelo similar. Estamos encantados de ayudarle! Si bien no podemos físicamente a muchos de los lugares, Ayuda directores están disponibles para asesorar y compartir cualquier información que tenemos para ayudarle en el desarrollo de nuevos programas.
It’s been a busy two weeks since our last post, 2019 Premio de Apreciación :: 2019 Appreciation Award which has been the most widely spread post in Ayuda’s history. The post sparked interest from all parts of Guatemala. Those who contacted us asked if Ayuda was able to expand services to include their town or at a minimum help them create a similar model. We are happy to help! While we are unable to physically go to many of the places, Ayuda principals are available to advise and share whatever information we have to assist in the development of new programs.
El 25 de abril el equipo fue recibido con una excelente participación en Tzununa. Cuando llegamos había una línea que incluía algunas mascotas de San Pedro, San Juan, San Marcos y San Pablo. La mayoría eran de Tzununa. Nuestras clínicas nunca son exclusivas. Si tenemos el espacio, proporcionamos el paquete a cualquier animal de cualquier pueblo.
On 25 April the team was greeted with a terrific turnout in Tzununa. When we arrived there was a line up which included some pets from San Pedro, San Juan, San Marcos, and San Pablo. The majority were from Tzununa. Our clinics are never exclusive. If we have the space, we provide the package to any animal from any village.

El 2 de mayo estuvimos de vuelta en Panajachel.
On 2 May we were back in Panajachel.
En adopción noticias, poco Chepito se ha ido a su casa! Cuando Chepito fue rescatada de las calles de San Pedro por el sauce fue un lío. A su izquierda el hip fue terriblemente infectada y no estaba usando la pierna. Dr. Isael insertado un drenaje y le recetó un antibiótico junto con analgésicos. Todos estamos esperando a ver si era necesario amputar la pierna. Después de más de una semana de tratamiento y hospitalización Chepito fue capaz de poner un poco de presión sobre la espalda la pata con la pata plana sobre el suelo. El Dr. Isael recomendó darle más tiempo a Chepito con la pierna. Lo siento… ninguna foto de adopción de Chepito.
In adoption news, little Chepito has gone home! When Chepito was rescued from the streets of San Pedro by Willow he was a mess. His left back hip was terribly infected and he wasn’t using the leg. Dr. Isael inserted a drain and prescribed an antibiotic along with pain meds. We all waited to see if it was necessary to amputate the leg. After more than a week of therapy and hospitalization Chepito was able to put a bit of pressure on his back paw with the paw flat on the ground. Dr. Isael recommended giving Chepito more time with the leg. Sorry…no adoption photo of Chepito.
Para la adopción es Ferdinand. De los aires de él parece que su vida ha sido una novela de terror hasta ahora. Fue descubierto primero por un voluntario de Ayuda amarrado y llanto. Después de machacar la puerta varias veces, un joven sale para hablar con el voluntario que explicó que el perro estaba en la condición terrible y necesitó la ayuda veterinaria. El joven dijo que quiso ayudar al perro y que le tomaría a la oficina de Panajachel para un examen cuidadoso. También consintió en esterilizar a Ferdinand.
Up for adoption is Ferdinand. From the looks of him it appears his life has been a horror story so far. He was first spotted by an Ayuda volunteer tied up and crying. After banging on the door several times, a young man come out to talk with the volunteer who explained that the dog was in terrible condition and needed veterinary help. The young man said he wanted to help the dog and that he would take him to the Panajachel office for a thorough exam. He also agreed to sterilize Ferdinand.
Desafortunadamente, estas cosas no han sucedido. En su lugar, “Ferdi” fue visto suelto en la calle, tropezando. También estaba siendo atacado por otros perros mientras intentaba encontrar un lugar seguro para existir. Otro voluntario preocupado, Nikki lo recogió, lo llevó a su apartamento, y pidió ayuda.
Unfortunately, these things didn’t happen. Instead “Ferdi” was spotted loose on the street, stumbling. He was also being attacked by other dogs as he tried to find a safe place to exist. Another concerned volunteer, Nikki picked him up, took him to her apartment, and called for assistance.
El momento era perfecto ya que la clínica de esterilización pana fue al día siguiente. “Ferdinand” ahora está esterilizado, vacunado, libre de parásitos y siendo tratado por sus múltiples heridas.
The timing was perfect as the Pana sterilization clinic was the next day. “Ferdinand” is now sterilized, vaccinated, parasite-free, and being treated for his multiple wounds.
“Ferdi” se pasa en grande las calidades verdaderas de un bull terrier. ¡No es un luchador, es un amante! No comenzaba ninguno del problema en las calles. Al contrario, los otros perros le atacaron. ¡Nikki compartió esto “Ferdi” quiere ser un perro faldero! Es muy afectuoso y hará a alguien un compañero leal, cariñoso.
“Ferdi” lives up the true qualities of a bull terrier. He’s NOT a fighter, he’s a lover! He was not starting any of the trouble on the streets. On the contrary, the other dogs attacked him. Nikki shared that “Ferdi” wants to be a lap dog! He is very affectionate and will make someone a loyal, loving companion.
